Bio / History | Killmaster K, Kmasta, leggie, KilliK (the pallendrome) has been making music for a number of years, but has been hiding out. Until recently, Killmaster K, originally from Athens, Greece now lives in the Pittsburgh, PA area. [edit: Now in Cologne, Germany, 2010 October] Having moved from Washington D.C. in 1999, some of his influences are Thievery Corporation, Praga Khan, Jade-4U, The Linn Youki Project, Tool, OttoBoy, Elvis, Wanda Jackson and Accept. "Jenga and the Gang" are permanently embedded in his mind and he is currently working on multiple tracks for his latest album Business Travel & Bums which is playing in deep-down and underground local clubs. Recently (2000-2001...how time flies...), DJ Marxus remixed some of his material in the Washington, PA area. Of incredibly cranked personal intensity, the track "Cramping up After Ralph" must be played only at max volume. Having grown up in Glyfada, during his teenage years, Killmaster K was constantly exposed to the dance beats of the Mediterranean. Killmaster spent his summers in Porto Heli working in ourdoor disco's and experimenting with music of the era. This initial etching of dance oriented hifi sound from powerfully amped speakers made an impression that still inspires Killmaster to this day. After meeting with Praga Khan and the Lords of Acid in the late '80's, Killmaster K began to create his own sounds using the MC303 and 505 groovebox. Also worth mentioning, while in university, KilliK and N. Boris Shevchenko rocked the house remixing everything from Billy Idol to Petshop Boys. Today, the primary tools of the trade are his Mac, Korg Electribe and Kaoss Pad. That is unless he's riding his Triumph Thruxton 900 with his rockers... www.steelcityrockers.com. |
| It's truly amazing when you eventually realize how very short life is. Then you stop for a second (which is impossible, mind you) and you begin to grasp the inevitable reality that everything you know will change. You will change. You look back at the past, you try and relive moments that will NEVER come again. You remember good times, bad times, times when you could have made a difference. Other times when you should have said or dome something that would have changed some course, perhaps your own. You can dwell on these thoughts or you can simply realize that there is no other alternative but to move on. If you try and think of all the bad that mankind does to one another, it consumes you and you wonder...why? Not why does it consume you, but why does mankind behave so negatively? What's with the killing? | posted: 5/31/2009 7:58:56 AM - email it
