On some tunes, I employed beds that were recorded to cassette tape about 10 years ago using my Emu Proteus MPS+ synth and a Mac IIfx and Studio Vision from OpCode - I added the guitars and some loop fx in 2005. The others were "machined" completely from scratch using the computer, software, loops and guitars. The sounds are based on what appeals to me - I hope that you'll find them entertaining too.
I have been playing bass since I was a young lad and just recently started beating up on the electric guitar. More than likely, I will forever be perfecting my guitar technique as it has become a bit of an enigma - I'm after a polished sound that might be compared to a childs crayon scribblings - these two approaches are mutually exclusive - i.e., intense care and attention to detail that exists only in the eye of the creator. This may seem as though I have a total dissregard for any crafting or any semblance of detail, but nothing could be further from the truth.
I have a great deal of nifty guitar stuff - many Strats, Marshalls, Mesa Boogie Mark IIb, Vox, Fender amps, Digitech GNX3000. As for the guitar tracks, they are, say, 99% first takes with a fair amount of slicing, sliding and processing. I use Acid Music Studio 6.0a, SoundForge 8.0a and I currently have a trial version of Adobe Audition 2.0 running - all with tons of VSTs. Many thanks to all you Jamwave fans for your interest in my love, insanity and obcession! |
